Beauty Layers
"Beauty is only skin deep." But to an onion, how deep is skin deep?
Process: Below are previous iterations of the final character, as well as sketches for animation breakdown.
The idea began with an onion that kept peeling away at her layers to reveal a more youthful petal within. Initial iterations had only the main onion act as a head, but then I decided to add a "skirt" of layers already peeled back but still attached to make her easier to read.
Background Design
I wanted to make it look like she had been peeling away at her layers, thus the extra petals on the cutting board, and two previous "faces" beside where she sits.
